| The collaboration between Haegue Yang and the Amsterdam-based duo Maureen Mooren and Daniel van der Velden transforms the original material into a book format. This publication is based on the work titled ?lliterate Leftovers?, which document numerous blank sheets of fax. They are the result of a blind communication between the artist and partly anonymous and partly intimate audience via fax without sharing any specific content or information with each other. In this project Yang? interest lies in a search of possible communication mode, yet the visual as the end product is nothing but a fragile proof of imaginative community rather than optimistically communicating individuals. Each page is hardly occupied by any noticeable message and evokes somehow melancholic sentiment of failed communication among individuals. |
